Katrina Rowell

Katrina Rowell is a silversmith and jewellery artist based in Forres, Scotland. She holds a BA (Hons) in Silversmithing and Jewellery Design from the Glasgow School of Art.

Her work is rooted in intuitive making, archetypal symbolism, and material storytelling. Working primarily in recycled sterling silver, she uses hand-carving, sand-casting, and texturing techniques to create pieces that feel ancient, worn, and emotionally resonant—like relics from a forgotten myth.

Her recent collection, Face of the Elders, presents six one-of-a-kind rings inspired by ancient tree folklore. Each piece is a sacred offering, inviting the wearer into relationship with story, environment, and the unseen. Her practice is highly experimental, led by a process of thinking through making, and shaped by a commitment to creating unique, one-off pieces.

Katrina sees jewellery as a form of ritual: a talisman to mark transformation, carry meaning, and embody presence. Her current training in person-centred counselling informs this process, with the inward journey of healing and self-connection carried gently through to her work.
