The piece draws inspiration from the lore of the Scots Pine—a native tree deeply connected to the Moray landscape, and personally significant within this body of work. In folklore, the Scots Pine is linked to inner vision:

These themes guided the making of the piece, which unfolded through a highly experimental and responsive process.
